Anthony Motta, age 78 of Tiverton, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 5, 2014. He was the beloved husband of Gilda (Camara) Motta and the son of the late Antonio & Claudia (Freitas) Motta. Prior to retiring, Anthony worked as a Plant Manager for Globe Mfg. He was a veteran of the US Navy Reserves, and a parishioner of St. Theresa’s Church, Tiverton.
He was a past member of the Tiverton Knights of Columbus, past coach for the Tiverton Little League, and a member of the Hands Round Square Dancing Club. He was an avid New England Sports Team Fan, and enjoyed watching his grandchildren participating in the Tiverton High School Sports Program.
Anthony loved to spend his summer days at South Shore Beach in Little Compton, and spending precious time with his beloved family.
In addition to his wife of Tiverton, he is survived by his children: the late Eric Motta, Paula Valliere (husband Joseph), Lynn Nicholas, & Gary Motta (wife Nancy) all of Tiverton, and Kyle Motta of Fall River; grandchildren: Nicholas & Matthew Valliere, Rachel & Allison Motta, Jesse Nicholas, and Jawan Motta; his sister: Lillian Michel of Tiverton; several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, INC. 1521 N. Main St., Fall River on THURSDAY at 8:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Theresa’s Church, Tiverton at 10:00 A.M. Interment in Pocasset Hill Cemetery.
