NEW DURHAM, NH – Alice Mary (Drouin) Burbank, 79, of Birch Hill Road, formerly of Portland, CT died Monday, September 29, 2014 at Lakes Region General Hospital.
She was born on October 20, 1934 in Laconia, NH the daughter of Peter J. and Merilda (Maheux) Drouin. She loved crafts and knitting and also enjoyed her flower gardening. Alice was an active church member of St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church in Wolfeboro and St. Andre Bessette Parish – St. Josephs Church in Laconia. Alice also was previously employed by Middlesex Memorial Hospital in Middletown, CT for 35 years.
She is survived by her two sons, Michael Burbank and his wife Holly of East Hampton, CT and Wayne Burbank of Columbia, CT, two daughters, Kathryn Sharpley and her husband Tom of Coventry, CT and Cynthia Christensen and her husband Robert of PA, six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, one brother, Antonio Drouin, and his wife, Therese, of Laconia, two sisters, Theresa Rolfe and her husband Nelson of Belmont and Lucille Morin of VT, nieces, nephews, her uncle, Antonio “Tony” Maheux and his wife Noel of Laconia, her aunt Alice Doucet and her special cousin, Margie Walker of Laconia. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Lyndon P. Burbank in 2010 and one brother, Lucien Drouin.
There will be no calling hours.
A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11AM on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at St. Andre Bessette Parish - St. Joseph Church, 30 Church Street, Laconia. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Garfield St., Laconia.
