John Wesley “Dub” Hipps, 72, of Citra, Florida, died Monday, November 29, 2004, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, December 4, 2004, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Fitzgerald, Georgia, with the Rev. Clayton Dowd officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00, Friday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Hipps was born September 26, 1932, in Cairo, Georgia, to the late Rev. John Arthur and Cora Estelle Nash Hipps. He lived in Citra, Florida for the past three years and was a former resident of Washington State. Mr. Hipps was retired owner/operator of Cherokee Paint & Dry Wall. He served in the United States Army and was of the Church of God faith.
Survivors include: Children: Tommy Hipps and Debbie Hipps, both of Texas; two sisters and a brother: Virginia A. Dorsey, Summerville, SC, Ann Livingston, Macon, GA and Charles Hipps, Valdosta, GA. He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
