Antonio “Tony” Manuel Bettencourt 54 of Lawrence passed away on October 1, 2014 at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House surrounded by his loving family. Tony was born on August 29, 1960 in Faial, Azores, Portugal to Antonio S. and Maria (Elias) Bettencourt. He was the president of the Berkeley Social Club of Lawrence. He enjoyed spending time on his boat and classic cars. Tony worked at Adamson Industries for 27 years. He is very well known throughout the law enforcement community throughout the country because of his dedicate work at Adamson Industries.
Tony was the beloved fiancé of Maureen Hayward for many years. He was the loving father of Anthony Michael Bettencourt and his wife Megan of Denver, CO. Tony was the dear brother of Paul Bettencourt and his wife Helene of Dracut. He is also survived by his two nephews Tyler and Bradley.
Friends and guests are invited to call on Friday, October 3, 2014 at 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St. Methuen. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on October 4, 2014 at 1:00 PM at the Corpus Christi/Holy Rosary Church of Lawrence.
