Obituary

Gary D. MacClay, of Plymouth formerly of Carver, died on September 29th at Tufts Medical Center at the age of 69 after a lifelong battle with diabetes. He is survived by his wife Pamela (Brent) MacClay of Plymouth and his sons Jeffrey of Los Angeles, CA; Andrew, Matthew and Timothy all of Plymouth. He also leaves his brother Ronald MacClay of PA and his sister Joyce Thorn of GA as well as many nieces and nephews.

Gary was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA and attended Temple University. He was employed as a lead engineer at Design Mark, Inc. of Wareham, MA. He was a lifelong musician and enjoyed singing, playing guitar and writing music. He was an avid member of the worship team at New Testament Church of Plymouth.

Gary's life was an expression of his joy in the Lord which he shared with all who knew him. He was a remarkably courageous yet gentle soldier, fully leaning on God's strength and grace to carry him through many trials. God's love shone through him as he encouraged so many others to live a victorious life through faith in Jesus.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 5th at the New Testament Church on Long Pond Rd. in Plymouth at 2:30 PM. There are no visiting hours and burial will be private. Arrangements made by the Richard Davis Funeral Homes of Plymouth and Manomet. In lieu of flowers, his family requests that donations in his memory be made to the New Testament Church, 1120 Long Pond Rd, Plymouth, MA 02360.
