Worcester—Ralph P. Womer died peacefully in his home at 22 Hartford Road, Worcester, Massachusetts on Tuesday, November, 30, 2004, in his 89th year. He leaves his wife of 61 years, Jean (Douglass) Womer and his children, Paul and Abigail (Van Doren) Womer, Ronald and Sara (Womer) Lohnes, and Alan Womer, five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Ralph was born in Spencer and had lived most of his life in Worcester. His parents were Samuel J. and Mary J. (Mills, Miller) Womer. He was pre-deceased by his brothers, George Miller and Alfred C. Womer. Ralph graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester and Wentworth Institute, Boston, Massachusetts, served in the army in the South Pacific during World War II, and worked for the former Norton Company for over 30 years. Ralph will be sorely missed by his family and friends.
A memorial service to honor Ralph’s life will be held at St. Michael’s-on-the-Heights Church, 340 Burncoat Street, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 4th. Burial will be private at a time convenient for his family.
