James Michael “Jimmy” Schwager, 46, of Worcester died Wednesday, October 1st in the Rose Monahan Hospice Home after losing a brief battle with esophageal cancer. Jimmy was born in Boston and was raised in Revere. He spent the last 12 years with his wife, Jane and granddaughter, Alysia “Lissy” Schwager in Worcester.
Jimmy took pleasure in RVing, travelling to Florida, fishing with his family. He was an avid Red Sox fan. Jimmy was heavily involved with Narcotics Anonymous. He looked forward to sharing his journey with others and dedicated his time to helping them with their struggles. Jimmy also enjoyed socializing with his many friends.
He is survived by his wife, Jane J. (Lanoie) Schwager; his daughters, Ashley Schwager of Revere, Courtney Lederhaus of Myrtle Beach, SC and Brittany Schwager of Reading; his step-children, Magdalene Tiapula of Worcester and Michael Tiapula of Bourne; his sister, Lisa Capachietti of East Boston; a brother, Patrick Schwager of Winthrop; and aunt and uncle Catherine and Robert Doucette of Foxborough; 8 grandchildren; many cousins, nieces, a nephew and special friends.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, October 5th from 1:00 until 2:30 PM in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a service to follow at 2:30 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to SMOC-Serenity House, PO Box 344, Hopkinton, MA 01748.
