Ellen (Winship) Clark Shaw, 91, died peacefully on Saturday, September 27, 2014 in Beaumont Nursing Home. She is survived by her sons Davis W. Clark and his girlfriend Tammy Lapointe of Maine, Richard A. Clark and his wife Eileen of Holden, four grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Ellen was predeceased by her first husband Allen F. Clark (40 yrs.) in 1983, her second husband Burton B. Shaw in 2007, her daughter Joanne Carberry in April and son James S. Clark in 2013. She was born in Manila, Philippine Islands, the daughter of S. Davis and Beatrice (Gardner) Winship. She moved to Worcester and lived with a foster family, Mr. and Mrs. Earl S Lewis in 1932. She graduated from South High School and attended the University of Maine at Orono. She worked for 20 yrs. at Tatnuck Fish Market in Worcester and Mechanics Bank. She volunteered for many years at the Fairlawn Rehabilitation Hospital in Worcester.
A calling hour will be held from 11-12 Noon on Saturday, October 4 in Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St. Worcester. A private funeral and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. She will be laid to rest with her first husband at Rural Cemetery in Worcester.
