Obituary

Armand Correia 90, of Tiverton, R.I. passed away September 26, 2014 at Evergreen House Healthcare in East Providence after a long battle with COPD. He was the husband of the late Marie R. (Cotellesso) Correia formerly Molle, who died in April of this year and the late Lena M. (Laroche) Corriea, who died in 1990. Born in Fall River, April 16, 1924 he was a son of the late John and Jacintha deJesus (Costa) Correia, he was a resident of Tiverton for 59 years.

He was raised and educated in Fall River and was a graduate of Samuel Watson School in 1939. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII and was honorably discharged in May of 1946. He retired many years ago from Ciba-Geigy Chemical Plant in Cranston, where he worked as a Chemical Operator. During his retirement years he worked for the Newport Preservation Society as a Security Guard throughout the mansions.

He is survived by his 2 step-daughters, Lawrie A. Molle of Tiverton, R.I. Bonnie M. Shea and her husband Gregory of Franklin, M.A. and 2 grandchildren Brendon & Derek Shea. He was the brother of the late Mary Correia, Mary Sarah Correia, Antonia ‘Toni” (Correia) Correa, Mary (Correia) Dionizio, Americo Correia, Joseph Correia, Bento Correia, John Correia, & Carl Correia.

His Committal Service & Entombment will be held on Friday October 3rd at 1:00 P.M. in the Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum, Fall River. Arrangements are under the direction of the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, INC. Fall River, MA.
