OTTO SCHRAMM JR.

GROTON- Otto F. Schramm Jr., 76, of 59 Forest Street, Groton, died Wednesday at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital.

Otto was born on October 11, 1928 in Groton the son of the late Otto F. Schramm Sr. and Matilda M. Schramm. He married Ruth O. "Chris" Christianson January 9, 1951.

Otto was a skilled carpenter . He built his home in Groton and lived there until the time of his death. He attended Fitch High School and Mitchell College and served in the US Air Force and met his wife at Otis Air Force Base in Falmouth, MA.

Otto worked at Electric Boat as a Piping Designer retiring in 1988 after 36 years. His hobbies included building model boats and maintaining his rental property. He was also one of the original developers of the Crosswinds Subdivision in Noank.

In addition to his wife, Otto is survived by a son, Scott F. Schramm and his wife Jocelyn of Noank; three daughters, Deborah E. Golub and her husband James of Noank, Paula J. Burns and her husband Kevin of Griswold, and Dr. Beth A. Schramm and her husband Dr. Sean D. McKeown of Noank; 8 grandchildren, Shane, Chad, Andrea, Aaron, Sarah, Gunnar, Bowen and Hunter. He is also survived by 4 sisters, Marion DiGangi of Quaker Hill, Sandra Cataldi and Dana McAllister both of Mystic, and April Falcone of Westerly.

Otto's family will greet relatives and friends at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, historic downtown Mystic, on Friday from 6-8pm. The funeral service and burial will be private. Donations in his memory may be made to Faith Lutheran Church, Poquonnock Rd, Groton 06340.
