TAUNTON – James A. Copeland, Jr., husband of Mary (Baptiste) Copeland of Taunton, died at Brigham and Women’s Hospital on Sept. 25, 2014.
He was 84.
Born in Taunton, he was the son of the late James A. and Edna A. (Reimann) Copeland.
A lifelong Taunton resident, Mr. Copeland graduated from Taunton High School in 1948.
He later served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.
A retired foreman, he was employed by Reed & Barton Silversmiths for over 48 years.
Mr. Copeland was an avid sports fan, but he especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren play soccer.
He also enjoyed reading, camping and gardening.
In addition to his wife, he leaves three daughters, Pamela J. Copeland and Sharon M. Medeiros and her husband Louie, all of Taunton and Debra C. Mahfouz and her husband Paul of Raynham; five grandchildren, Adam Medeiros of Taunton, and Ethan, Zachary, Hannah and Rachel Mahfouz, all of Raynham; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also the brother of the late Alan H. Copeland.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Monday, Sept. 29th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church at 10 a.m.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, Sept. 28th from 4 to 7 p.m.
