…lifelong Tewksbury resident; 70
TEWKSBURY - Kurt (Schimmelbusch) Busch, age 70, a lifelong resident of Tewksbury, died peacefully on Thursday, September 25, at Lowell General Hospital’s Saints Campus, after a long period of declining health.
He was born in 1944, one of two sons of the late Wilbur B. and Mildred C. (Ferguson) Schimmelbusch, was a well known member of the Tewksbury community. Kurt overcame the challenges of his disabilities, led a well balanced life, and was well known throughout the community for his energetic spirit. He was an avid sports fan and loved watching his favorite local teams; the Patriots, Bruins, and Red Sox. Kurt also enjoyed cheering on his favorite high school football team, the Tewksbury Redman. Kurt had been in residence at Wingate at Belvidere for many years.
He was a retired employee of the Tewksbury School Department where he worked as a custodian.
He was predeceased by his parents and brother Robert, and leaves his sister-in-law, Cheryl (Layne) (Busch) Accardi and her husband Tony of Lowell, MA and Wells, ME, his niece Elizabeth (Busch) Bennett, who lovingly cared for him, and her husband Erik, and great niece Elizabeth A. of Lowell. Kurt's family is forever grateful to the care he received from his family at Wingate.
At Kurt’s request, private committal services were held at Tewksbury Cemetery. Memorials to the memory of Kurt may be made to the Tewksbury Redman Club.
