Obituary

BEVERLY: Rita G. (Munroe) Ball, 58, died Thursday, September 25, 2014 surrounded by her loving family at her home following an extended illness. She was the beloved wife of Francis L. “Frank” Ball.
Born in Lynn on August 13, 1956, she was the daughter of the late Edwin L. and Evelyn M. (Rafuse) Munroe. She had resided in Beverly most of her life and was a graduate of Beverly High School class of 1974. A U.S. Air force veteran of the Vietnam War, she was honorably discharged as an aircraft mechanic on July 1, 1976.
Rita was employed as the billing supervisor at Lahey Clinic in Danvers for seventeen years. She enjoyed the outdoors and gardening. She also loved family gatherings and especially the time spent with her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband of twenty-nine years, she is survived by her two daughters, Christina Fasano and her husband, Joseph of Stoughton and Renee Correa and her husband, Samuel of Beverly; two sons, Scott Ball and his wife, Maria of Peabody and David Ball and his wife, Bridget of Danvers; ten grandchildren, Joey, Daniella, D.J., Matthew, Courtney, Haley, Andrew, Nathan, Benjamin and Jacob; three brothers, Ross Munroe, Richard Munroe and his wife, Dorothy and Michael Munroe; two sisters-in-law, Patricia Radici and Frances Tinkham; her former mother-in-law, Maria Whitehead and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by her former spouse, Robert Whitehead.
Her funeral service will be held on Monday in the Grondin Funeral Home, 376 Cabot St., Beverly at 11 a.m. Visitation will be held on Monday prior to the service from 9:30 – 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism, P.O. Box 767, Framingham, MA 01701.
