Obituary

New Bedford – Rita E. (Allen) Woodis, 81, of E. Freetown died after a long illness November 30, 2004 at The Oaks. She was the wife of Milton G. Woodis; they were married for 67 years.

Mrs. Woodis was born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Frank and Elizabeth M. (Frost) Allen, and resided in E. Freetown most of her life. She was employed as a clerk by the former Fairhaven Mills, New Bedford until her retirement. She was a member of the Freetown Historical Society and enjoyed sewing, painting, doll making and many other crafts.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by 2 daughters: Barbara E. French of Westboro, MA and Rita B. Santos of Dighton, MA; a son: Dexter M. Woodis of Cowley, WY; a brother: Lloyd F. Allen of New Bedford; 9 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.

She was sister of the late Roger Allen.

Calling hours Friday, December 3, 2004, 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 noon.

Funeral service Friday, December 3, 2004 at 12:00 noon.

Interment in Acushnet Cemetery, Acushnet.
