Obituary

CHICOPEE – Jeremy J. Banville, 41, of the Aldenville section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Sunday, September 21, 2014. He passed into Eternal Life at his home after a valiant battle with colon cancer surrounded by the care and comfort of his family, friends and caregivers. Jeremy was born in Springfield on March 28, 1973, a beloved son of Gerald and Lucie (Long) Banville of Chicopee. He was raised in Chicopee, graduated in 1992 from Chicopee Comprehensive High School and was a lifelong resident of Chicopee. He was employed by the Simmons Mattress Company in Agawam. Despite his serious illness and facing death, Jeremy never complained. He made peace with himself, his God and was able to say goodbye to all his family and his many friends. Most of all, he was a fun guy who will be missed by his family and friends. During his short life, Jeremy enjoyed the simple things in life including family, fishing, golf, karate, soccer, football and softball. Besides his parents, he leaves his loving wife, Kimberly Dansereau-Banville and her children whom he adored, Ryan and Mikayla Dansereau, all of Chicopee; Ryan’s daughter, Addyson Dansereau; his loving maternal grandmother, Adeline Long of New Brunswick, Canada; his cherished sister and brother-in-law, Valerie J. Mandeville and her husband, Adam, of Sanford, NC, and their sons who were Jeremy’s cherished nephews, Tavian and Silas Mandeville. In addition, Jeremy leaves many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and extended members of the Banville, Long, and Dansereau families. His family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, September 28, 2014 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. followed by a Prayer Service at 5 p.m. at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His family has requested that memorial donations be made in his memory to the Children’s Miracle Network at Baystate Medical Center, 280 Chestnut Street, Springfield, MA 01199.
