Mildred Samantha (Watson) Bray, 86, of Mystic, wife of the late Charles E. Bray, Sr. passed away September 16, 2014, at Yale New Haven Hospital.
She was born July 23, 1923 in Mystic, the daughter of the late Floyd & Lucille Watson. She and her husband Charles were married for 63 years until his death in 2011.
She enjoyed gardening, sewing, knitting/crocheting and cooking and most recently watching game shows. She also was a caregiver to her mother, sisters and children. Nobody went hungry at momma’s house. She always had an open heart and arms for a child, stray cats and dogs.
She is survived by her children, Johnathan & Ida Bray, Nancie Bashor, Peggy & Michael Jensen, Thomas & Donna Bray, Susan & Donald Drexler, Carlton & Lori Bray, 15 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren and dog Gizmo. She also loved all her uncles, aunts, nephews and nieces and cousins. In addition to her husband and parents, she is predeceased by her son Charles E. Bray, Jr., and sisters Louise Kenyon, Alice Campbell and Ella Beaulieu.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Graveside Service to be conducted on Tuesday, September 23, at 11:00am in Elm Grove Cemetery, Mystic. There are no visiting hours.
