Jean Louis Marques, age 57, passed away on Sept 15, 2014 at Baystate Medical Center. He was born on Sept 5, 1957 in the French Alps to Joao and Deolinda (Olivieira) Marques. He was a communicant of Holy Name Church in Chicopee. Jean lived in France for 15 years before moving to the United States, as well as being fluent in three languages, in addition to being a citizen of Portugal and the United States. He was a member of the Portuguese Club in Chicopee. He worked at Callaway Golf for 39 years where he met his wife. He was an avid golfer, fan of the Benfica Soccer Club, and enjoyed traveling. But, what he loved the most was spending time with his family. He leaves his loving wife of 35 years Maria Patricia (Julio) Marques of Chicopee; three daughters Catarina Maria Rodrigues and her husband Pieter Humphrey of Piedmont, CA, Sylvie Patricia Shuttleworth and her husband Paul of San Diego, CA, and Melissa Patricia Marques and her fiancee DJ Morin of Hadley; his mother Deolinda Marques of Portugal; one brother Joaquim Marques of France; and three grandchildren Noah Marques Shuttleworth, Naia Rodrigues Humphrey, and Ryan Rodrigues Humphrey. He is predeceased by his father Joao Marques. A Funeral Service wil be held on Friday Sept 19, 2014 at 10 AM from the Grise Funeral Home 280 Springfield St. Chicopee followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Name Parish in the Assumption Church, 104 Springfield St. Chicopee. Burial will take place in Concelho de Obidas, Portugal. Calling Hours will be held TODAY Thursday Sept 18, 2014 from 4 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
