SHUTYAK - Mrs. Emma Shutyak, 97, passed away Wednesday morning, September 17, 2014 at Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick, GA.
Mrs. Shutyak was born January 24, 1917 in Harmony, PA and had been living with her oldest daughter, Sandra, in Kingsland, GA for the past several years. She raised her family in McDonald, OH and moved south in 2008 from Niles, OH where she resided for 37 years.
She was of the Catholic faith. Mrs. Shutyak was an avid reader and a colossal baker of all varieties of pies. Every Thursday night she could be found playing Bingo at the Eagles in St. Marys, GA. She was devoted to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and was a devoted wife to John Shutyak, her beloved husband of 68 years, before his passing in 2004.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandra Shutak and Karen Shirley (Bob), all of Kingsland, GA; a sister Julie Veltman of Warren, OH; five grandchildren, Kristine Needham, Jonathan Glanz, Jason Glanz, Keri Shirley and Peter Shirley; and five great grandchildren Samantha, Nicholas, Joshuah, Katie and Hannah.
