Obituary

Armand D. Marquis, 87 of Salem, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at the Brentwood Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Danvers. He was the devoted husband of Jeannette S. (Perry) Marquis, with whom he shared 65 years of marriage.

Born and raised in Salem, he was the son of the late Ferdinand and Yvonne (Belanger) Marquis. A veteran of WWII, Armand served with the US Navy in the closing years of the war. He was employed by the United Shoe of Beverly for over 38 years.

Armand was a devoted family man who loved spending time with his family, and enjoyed dancing, traveling and their winters in Florida. He was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus Veragua Council # 76 of Salem. An avid bowler, Armand bowled for several leagues including the K. of C. and the Salem Chamber of Commerce.

In addition to his wife Jeannette, he is survived by two sons, Daniel A. Marquis and his wife Dulce of Deltona, FL, Dale R. Marquis and his wife Lynn-Ann of Salem, a daughter-in-law Diann Marquis of Marblehead, ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, David A. Marquis, who passed away September 1st of this year and by his brother Robert Marquis, and sisters, Yvonne Rego and Arlene Cote.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visiting hours on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Route 114 /1A] Salem from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. with the Vigil Service at 7:00 P.M.
