James Mills Cottle, Jr., 61, of Ty Ty passed away Sunday, September 14, 2014, at his residence after an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 16, 2014, in the Sanctuary of Tifton’s First Baptist Church with Dr. Wayne Roe and Rev. Paul Thomas officiating. Mr. Cottle will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, September 15, 2014, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mike Bostick, Charles Dillard, Larry Willis, Jerry Alberson. Ricky Mayne and Matthew Ray will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Tim Butler, Terry Butler, John Waddell, Tommy Cottle, Dr. Clifford Walker, Ronnie Story, Terry Moore, Phillip Harpe, Orin Deason, Bob Nelson, Tim Branch and Dewey Rozar.
Mr. Cottle was born November 7, 1952 in Tift County and was the son of James Mills Cottle, Sr. and Laura Laverne Leach Cottle, both deceased. He was the retired owner of Cottle Pest Control and he was a member of Tifton’s First Baptist Church. He was a member of the Georgia Pest Control Association, past board member of Springhill Country Club and served in the United States Army Reserves.
Mr. Cottle is survived by his wife, Terri Higgins Cottle of Ty Ty; two sons, Jason Mills Cottle and Matthew Justin Cottle, both of Tifton; two sisters, Cathy Moore of Lake Mary, Florida and Kris Enfinger of Clearwater, Florida; and one brother, Darryl Cottle of Clayton.
