
David Barton Pinkham, 89, of Pawcatuck, CT peacefully passed away on September 7, 2014. David was born on March 19, 1925, in Haverhill, Mass. to John T. and Elsie A. (Titcomb) Pinkham.
David spent his childhood in Dover, NH. In his senior year at Dover High School he left to join the U.S. Navy. He served his entire career in the Submarine Service (SS) and during World War II he served in the South Pacific fleet. He was a commissioning crewmember of the USS Albacore AGSS 569 at the Portsmouth, N.H. Naval Ship Yard in 1953. He retired from the U.S. Navy (SS) as Chief Engineman. David enjoyed the ocean, fishing, gardening, and a good joke.
David is survived by his loving and caring wife Ursula (Testa) Pinkham, a son David B. Pinkham, Jr., a sister Doris (Pinkham) Welch, sister-in-law Shirley Pinkham, and many nieces and nephews. David was predeceased by brothers John, Winthrop, and Robert Pinkham, and by sisters Ruth (Pinkham) Arthur, Lois (Pinkham) Hill, Alice (Pinkham) Folger.
After cremation, a private family burial service will be held at the Durham Cemetery in NH.
