Ricardo Jorge Mendes of Taunton (54) died September 7th in St. Ann's Hospital, Fall River after a peaceful day fishing. He was the husband of Maria G. (Rosa).
He was born in Praia, Santiago, Cape Verde son of Aponino and Luiza Mendes Borges of Angola. He resided in this country since 1995. He enjoyed fishing, working on cars and also computers.
In addition to his wife and parents Ricardo is survived by 4 sons- Ricardo J. Mendes Jr of Taunton, Djaune, Bruno and Claudio Mendes all of Angola, 4 daughters- Angelica, Sueraya, Chanika Rosa Mendes all of Taunton and Sueraya Mendes of Angola, 5 grandchildren, 3 brothers Candido Borges of Attleboro, Oscar Borges of Brockton and Ulisses Mendes of Angola, 1 sister Elsa Borges of Angola.
Funeral Services from the Home of Funerarias Multi Culturel 238 Court Street Brockton Tuesday September 16th at 8 am. Followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Edith Stein Church at 9 am. Burial will follow in Melrose Cemetery. Visitation Monday September 15th from 4-9 pm.
