Margaret L. Cassidy

TEWKSBURY - Margaret L. Cassidy, 63, a resident of the Indian Ridge community in
Tewksbury, died Saturday afternoon, Nov. 27, at the Hospice House Residence in Reading after a
lengthy and courageous fight with cancer, surrounded by her family.
She was born in Cambridge, a loving daughter of Ambrose J. “Gus” Cassidy and Margaret E.
(Power) Cassidy. She was raised in Cambridge, but lived in Somerville while raising her family.
She had lived in Tewksbury for the past 9 years.
She will be best remembered as having devoted her life to her children and grandchildren.
She was the beloved mother of Sheryl and her husband Anthony Viaes of Groton, Linda
and her husband David Tait of Burlington, and Donald D. Avery and his wife Tricia (Luiso)
Avery of Woburn; devoted grandmother of John and Michael Viaes, Allison and Brian Tait, and
Eric Avery; loving sister of Joseph and his wife Dorothy Cassidy of Cambridge, Robert and his
wife Shirley Cassidy of Somerville, Helen and her husband Frank Interrante of Tewksbury,
Thomas and his wife Anna Cassidy of Saugus. She is also survived by several aunts and uncles,
including her Godparents, Louise A. Power of Quincy and Albert J. Power of Framingham; and
many nieces and nephews.
Her Funeral Mass was held Wednesday, Dec. 1, in St. Dorothy’s Church, Wilmington. Interment was in St. Mary’s
Cemetery, No. Tewksbury. Memorials to the Hematology/Oncology Dept, St.
Elizabeth’s Hospital, c/o Development Office, 736 Cambridge St., Brighton, MA 02135, will be
appreciated.
