Mary Winifred Berryman (Casey), 93, of Lawrence, MA passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, September 6, 2014. Mary was known by many family and friends as “Nana B.” She was the daughter of Winifred and Michael Casey. Mary was born in Lawrence, MA. She attended St. Mary’s High School and the McIntosh Business School in Lawrence, MA. Mary was the beloved wife of Patrick William Berryman who passed away on September 5, 1980. Mary leaves five loving children: John and his wife Dorothy, Joseph and his wife Donna, Mary Samataro and her husband Butchie, Patricia Gallo and her husband Anthony, and Sheila Corsaro. She was very proud of her 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren: Michael Berryman and his son Casey; Shaun Berryman, his wife Nina, and their son Brett; Donna Melia, her husband Jerry, and their children Devin and Megan; Laurie James, her husband Bill, and their children Erica and Brock; Christopher Samataro, his wife Liz, and their children Tyler, Ava, Benjamin, and Alexander; Kerry Lupoli, her husband Mike, and their children Sophia, Michael, Celia, and Nicholas; Julie Martino, her husband Jay, and their children Abigail and Dominic; Kaitlin Gallo, her husband Chris Cagliuso, and their daughter Carmela; Kristin Osgood, her husband Matt, and their daughter Avery; Kacie Gallo; Candis Corsaro and her husband John Boggia; Carine Corsaro and her husband Jeff Robinson; and Craig Corsaro. She is also survived by many friends, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mary was predeceased by her brothers, John and Joseph Casey, her son-in-law, Joseph Corsaro, and her grandson, Patrick Berryman.
Mary worked at Central Catholic High School, the Internal Revenue Service, and Sears Department Store. She enjoyed spending time at the beach, visiting Florida with her husband Pat, playing bingo, going to Foxwoods, cheering on her grandchildren’s and great grandchildren’s sporting events, watching her grandchildren’s and great grandchildren’s recitals, going out for lunch, and spending time with her family.
Calling hours will take place on Monday September 8th from 4PM to 8PM at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, 122 Amesbury St, Lawrence, MA. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, September 9th at 9AM at St. Lucy’s Church in Methuen, MA.
