Laconia-----Howard Hale Brown, 90, Weirs Beach, N.H., died on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at the Laconia Rehabilitation Center, Genesis Healthcare.
Howard was born on September 29, 1923 in Concord, Mass. to Freda (Sibley) and Rollo H. Brown. He graduated from Laconia High School in 1941 and was also a graduate of the University of New Hampshire. He was a World War II Veteran, serving in the U.S. Army.
Howard was the owner of Chem Scientific in Newton, Mass. from 1974 until he retired in 1996. He had resided in Belmont, Mass. since 1961.
Survivors include his two daughters, Brenda Lee Brown of Weirs Beach, N.H. and Pamela B. Meehan and her husband William of Arlington, Mass; six grandchildren, Stephen Brown-Wooster of Hyde Park, Mass., Johanna Brown-Wooster of Laconia, N.H, Laura Andrews of Scarborough, Maine, Julia Nedoroscik of Oxford, Mass., Patrick H. Meehan and James C. Meehan of Arlington, Mass.; eight great grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Lois C. Brown, of Ft. Pierce, Florida. In addition to his parents, Howard was predeceased by his wife of fifty-eight years, Marilyn W. Brown, in 2002 and by a son, Colin H. Brown, in 1968.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 12, 2014 from 6:00-8:00PM at the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N.H, using the Carriage House entrance. A Memorial Service will immediately follow the calling hours at 8PM, also at the funeral home.
A private burial will be held in the family lot at Bayside Cemetery, Laconia, N.H.
