ALAN H. DEEMS, age 70, a Hingham resident for over 40 years, died on Friday, Nov. 26th at his home after a long illness. Mr. Deems was born in Detroit, Michigan and was raised in Crestline, Ohio. He served in the United States Army during the late 1950's. He was a 1970 graduate of Northeastern University in Boston. Mr. Deems was a mechanical engineer and was the founder and owner of Pumping Systems, Inc. of Whitman. He was a member of Old Colony Masonic Lodge of Hingham and the Northeastern Alumnae.
He leaves his wife, Beverly A. (Rice) Deems of Hingham; and was the father of Sheri A. Hasse of Littleton, Colorado, Lori J. McGinley of Scituate and Donald A. Deems of Braintree. Brother of June Garverick of Arizona and Ronald Deems of Ohio.
Also survived by 7 grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, Dec. 1st at 11 AM at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham.
Friends may visit at the Downing Chapel on Tuesday evening from 5-8 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association,
36 Cameron Ave., Cambridge, MA 02140-1102.
The interment will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
