TEWKSBURY - Eleanor M. “Sis” (Cutter) Medugno, age 90, died Wednesday, September 3, 2014, at Lowell General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late, William E. Medugno, who died in 1999.
She was born in Braintree, August 5, 1924, a daughter of the late, Joseph and Jenny (Gerstel) Cutter. She was raised in Jamaica Plain and moved to Tewksbury in 1972.
In her earlier years, she drove a taxi for the Green Cab Co. of Somerville, from where she retired after 20 years as a driver. She was an avid bingo player and was a regular for games at the Tewksbury-Wilmington Lodge of Elks, Knights of Columbus, Saint William’s, Tewksbury Hospital, Billerica VFW, and Foxwoods.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Judith Carroll and her husband James of Tewksbury; a son, William J. Medugno of Tewksbury; a sister, Anna Cutter of No. Quincy; seven grandchildren, James and Remy Carroll of Sterling, Kimberly and Russell Marchand of Hudson, NH, Scott and Susan Carroll of Lowell, Brian “Toby” and Andrea Carroll of Hillsboro, NH, William A. Medugno of Tewksbury, Jaymie Medugno of Billerica, Christiaan Medugno of Tewksbury; eight great grandchildren, Thomas, Hunter, Sean, Cole, Aliyah, Anthony, Adreanna, Abagail and many friends.
Her funeral service was held September 8, in the Tewksbury Funeral Home followed by her burial at Mt. Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy. Donations to the Eleanor Medugno Memorial Fund, C/O Lowell Five Bank, 1775 Main Street, Tewksbury, MA 01876, are greatly appreciated.
