Obituary

WEBSTER – Dolores C. Stokes, 84, of 532 White Plains Road, formerly a 50 year resident of 20 Hoyt Road, Gilford, died Tuesday, September 2, 2014 after a brief illness.

She was born on March 23, 1930 in Laconia, the daughter of Ernest and Rose (Trembly) Simoneau. Dolores was a former communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Laconia. She loved knitting, crochet, sewing and making doll clothes. She enjoyed biking, swimming and crossword puzzles. One of Dolores’ favorite pastimes was talking to her neighbors. She was an animal lover, especially cats.

She is survived by her two daughters; Kim M. Stokes of Franklin and C. Iris Chrostowski and her husband Lenny of Franklin, one grandson, Alex Blake and his wife Angela of Canaan, four great grandchildren; Valentine Blake of Canaan, Xavier Blake of Manchester, Isabeau Blake of Canaan and Inara Blake of Canaan, a niece, Joanne Simoneau of Florida and a nephew, Bruce Simoneau of Florida. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Earl N. Stokes in 2007, her son, Steven M. Stokes in 1958 and her grandson, Steven Blake.

There will be no calling hours.

A graveside service will be held at 1PM on Saturday, September 6, 2014 in the family lot at Bayside Cemetery, Laconia.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Hampshire Humane Society, PO BOX 572, Laconia, NH 03247.
