Obituary

Marjorie DeMello, 81, of New Bedford died Thursday November 25, 204 unexpectedly at St. Luke's Hospital.

Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late John and Susan (Bach) DeMello, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.

She was a member of the Christian Fellowship Center and a former member of the Full Gospel Christian Fellowship Center.

Miss DeMello was formerly employed by Aerovox, Raytheon and Fairhaven Corporation for many years until her retirement. For the past 15 years, she was a minister who dedicated her life in service of the Lord through outreach programs at St. Luke's Hospital, the Bread of Life and Journey to Wholeness ministries, Prison Ministry and Street Ministry. She was also a certified home health aide.

Survivors include a niece, Susan Deston of New Bedford; a great-nephew, Michael Deston, and his wife Dawn, of New Bedford; a great-niece, Ashlee Pereira, and her husband Robert, of New Bedford; and 5 great-great-nieces and nephews, James, Dylan, Taylor, Mackenzie and Robert.


She was the sister of the late Edward DeMello, John DeMello, George DeMello, Anthony DeMello, William DeMello and Philomena Medeiros.


Her Funeral Service will be held on Monday November 29, 2004 at 10 AM in the Christian Fellowship Center, 818 Church Street, New Bedford. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Sunday November 28, 2004 from 5-7 PM.
