PALMER – Kevin J. Bouvier, 32, of the Village of Bondsville in Palmer, was Called Safely Home on Friday, August 29, 2014. He passed into Eternal Life at UMASS Memorial Medical Center in Worcester after a valiant battle with renal cancer surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family and his wonderful caregivers. He was born in Springfield on July 23, 1982, a beloved son of James J. and Patricia L. (Desmarais) Bouvier of Bondsville. He was raised in Bondsville, graduated from Palmer High School and lived in the Village of Bondsville for most of his life. He later continued his education and attended Holyoke Community College. Kevin was employed by Solutia, a subsidiary of Eastman Chemical Company, in Indian Orchard. Kevin’s passion in life was his family, his many friends and his music. He began playing the guitar while a freshman at Palmer High School. He was an avid guitarist and bass guitarist and played with the bands Honkey Dorey and the Steve Moskal Band. This past April the band had a reunion in his honor and raised funds for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute/Jimmy Fund in Boston. Kevin was a simple, fun guy who enjoyed life to its fullest during his 32 short years. Besides his parents, he leaves his longtime girlfriend and caregiver who never left his side during his illness, Abby Crawford with whom he lived; his loving brother and best friend, Adam V. Bouvier and his wife, Candace, of Palmer; his cherished uncle and aunts, Aubrey and Linda Ayer of Orland, ME, and Susan Druther of Mayfield, PA; his dear cousins, Matthew Ayer, Kelly and Larry Boynton and their children, Ryder and Sierra, Kristina and Royce Young and their daughter, Kelsey, David MacQuarrie, Susan MacQuarrie Moody and Eric MacQuarrie. Kevin will also be missed by his extended family; his many friends; his faithful dog, Leo; and his cats, Kaylee and Chief Brody. A remembrance gathering will be held at the home of his girlfriend Abby’s parents, Brian and Michelle, on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 2 p.m. Their home is located at 19 Bondsville Road, Ware, MA 01082 on the banks of the Swift River where Kevin spent many happy times with his family and friends.
