Jean Lucille “Lucy” (DeYoung) Hood, a 50 year resident of Brockton , formerly of Lakeville, passed away on Sunday November 21, 2004 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston after a lengthy illness. She was 68 years old.
Born December 11, 1935 in Canton , Massachusetts she was the daughter of the late Sidney and Jenny (St. George) DeYoung.
She attended Canton Public Schools and St. John’s Catholic High School.
She was employed as a Quality Control Supervisor with the former Johnson & Johnson Orthopedic Company for over 20 years.
She loved her family very much and enjoyed playing bingo in her spare time.
She is survived by her son: Robert S. Hood of Brockton, her daughters: Dawn L.E. Hood also of Brockton, Leesa J. Cifelli of Stoughton, her grandchildren; Shawn R. Hood, Deanna J. Hood, Brandon A. Hood, Jacquelyn M. Gill, Lindsay A. Totman, her greatgranddaughter Mykaela L. Hood, six nieces and one nephew. She was also pre-deceased by her twin sister Jane E. Borgeson and her two brothers Sidney DeYoung and Charles Lincoln.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday November 27, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. in the Immaculate Conception Church, 122 Canton Street, Rt. 27 , Stoughton The Rev. Joseph P. McDermott , Pastor, officiating.
Visiting hours have been omitted and interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Immaculate Conception Church, 122 Canton Street, Stoughton, MA 02072 in Jean’s memory would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Sheehan Funeral Home, Stoughton.
