Marjorie (Rent) Barnes, 87, of Anderson died at Community Northview August 27, 2014 after an extended illness.
She was born January 6, 1927 in Gaston, IN to Theodore Fred and Mildred G. (McCoy) Rent.
She graduated Anderson High School in 1945.
She worked production at Guide Lamp division of General Motors 25 1/2 years before retiring in 1988.
She was a member of Crossroads United Methodist Church and United Auto Workers Local 663.
She loved to camp.
She is survived by her three children, Patricia Barnes of Anderson; Roger Thomas (Pamela) Barnes of LaGrande, Ore and Virginia (Ed) Cates of Anderson; sister, Janice (Richard) Smith of Middletown; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Roger W. Barnes in 1992; her son, Robert Barnes and two brothers, Frank Rent and Burnell Rent.
Service will be 10 a.m. on Wednesday, September 3, at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Rev. John Hackney officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the service at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to American Cancer Society.
