McDonald, Ethel (McNeil) of Wellesley Hills, August 26, 2014. Ethel was born September 4, 1912 in Glace Bay (Dominion) Nova Scotia, Canada. She has been a resident of Wellesley Hills for the past 89 years. Beloved wife of the late George F. (Snubby) McDonald. Wonderful mother of Joan Murphy of Wellesley and her late husband Francis, Barbara Quigley of Natick and her late husband Charles, Carol Capeless and her husband James of Acton, and G. Ken McDonald and his wife Mary Anne of Wellesley.
Also survived by thirteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Ethel was an avid ballroom dancer. She enjoyed working in her garden and she was renowned for her baking, especially her chocolate cake. Her presence was always a joy to be around around with her wonderful sense of humor. She will be greatly missed and remembered very fondly.
Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St. (RT. 16) Wellesley, Saturday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Paul Church, Wellesley at 10am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hours on Friday from 4-7pm. Interment in St. Mary Cemetery, Needham. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the memory of Ethel M.
