Gregory William Gatto of Needham died suddenly on Tuesday November 23. He was 19 years of age. Greg was a member of the freshman class at Hofstra University. A graduate of Needham High School Class of 2004, Greg was Co-Captain of the 2003 Needham High School league champion football team. Greg was selected as a Bay State League All Star. He was also a member of the Needham High basketball team. Greg was the recipient of the Needham Pop Warner Scholarship. Greg had many outstanding qualities to his life including Extraordinary talent, and a Competitive spirit. He had a great sense of Happiness with his many friends and was a leader among them. Greg was involved with the Episcopal Relief Mission and Habitat for Humanity. The beloved son of Richard W. and Claudia (MacDonald) Gatto of Needham and the dear brother of Daniel, Christopher and Patrick Gatto all of Needham. He was the cherished grandson of Muriel (Adams) and the late Victor E. Gatto Sr.of Needham and Aldine and the late Harry B. MacDonald. He also leaves his aunts and uncles, Victor E. Gatto Jr of Knoxville Tn, Gillyin Gatto of Machias ME and Gary and Linda MacDonald of Croydon PA. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday November 27 at 11:00 Am at the Christ Episcopal Church 1132 Highland Avenue Needham. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be at the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Avenue Needham on Friday from 3-8 PM. Interment will be at Needham Cemetery.
