Hazel (Perry) Costa, 82, of New Bedford died March 27, 2002 at home after a long illness.
She was the former wife of the late Aristen "Harry" Costa, and daughter of the late Justin and Mary (Silva) Perry.
Mrs. Costa was born in New Bedford and had lived in New Bedford for all of her life.
She was a member of St. Martin's Episcopal Church.
Mrs. Costa was formerly employed at States Nitewear until her retirement.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, and resided with her great-granddaughter, Nickol Valentin.
Survivors include a daughter, Rosalina Rapoza of New Bedford; 4 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the grandmother of the late Jessica Marie Costa, and sister of the late Lydia Athayde, Mary Silva, Elizabeth Avila and Welhelmina Rodericks.
