Obituary

LEICESTER, Edward J. Caissie, 94, of 16 West St., Cherry Valley, a section of Leicester, died Saturday, August 23 at Quaboag Rehab and Skilled Care Center in West Brookfield.

He was the husband of Ellen R. (Gubber) Caissie who died in 2009.

He leaves two sons; Edward F. Caissie and his wife Carole of Spencer, David J. Caissie of Warren, 4 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.

He was pre-deceased by two brothers; John and Francis Caissie and two sisters; Margaret Grolleau and Yvonne St. Germain and a daughter-in –law Linda L. Caissie.

Born in Oxford, he was the son of Abel & Mary (Landry) Caissie.

Mr. Caissie was worked as a stocker for seven years at Reed & Prince Mfg. in Worcester and eight years at Carleton Woolen Mills, retiring in 1988.

He served his country in the Army during WW II.

He was a member of St. Joseph’s Church, the AARP and the Senior Citizen Club all in Leicester. He also drove the elder van for the town of Leicester for five years.

He was an avid fisherman and gardener.

A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, August 26 at 11 AM in the MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. A calling hour will precede the Service from 10 to 11 AM.
