West Bridgewater - Mary V. (Chubbuck) Crowley, 84, died Sunday at her home in West Bridgewater after a brief period of failing health. She was the wife of the late John Robert Crowley.
Born May 10, 1920, in Brockton, a daughter of late Harold and Lelia (Dickinson) Chubbuck, she had been a resident of West Bridgewater for the past 58 years.
Raised in Brockton, Mrs. Crowley was a graduate of Brockton schools.
She was retired from the Foxboro Company in East Bridgewater, where she was employed as an executive secretary for 19 years.
She was a avid reader and enjoyed gardening, the ocean and playing the piano.
She is survived by her children, John Robert Crowley, Linda L. Macomber, Patricia Vaslet and Laura F. Herlihy, all of Bridgewater, Richard F. Crowley of West Bridgewater, Kim W.T. Crowley of Land O Lake, Fla., and H. Daniel Crowley of Middleboro; her grandchildren, Colleen, Jack, Rhonda, Christine, Mark, Erin, Gregg, Traciy, Dan, Heather, Mat, Teri, Elizabeth, Beth, Patrick and Megan; eleven great-grandchildren; and her sister-in-law, Ann (Crowley) Kireilis of Brockton. She is also survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Carol, Ginny, Debbie, Jon and Dick.
Her funeral will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday from the Prophett Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St. (Rte. 18), Bridgewater, followed by a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Ann’s Church, West Bridgewater. Burial will be in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton.
Visiting hours are Tuesday evening from 4-8 p.m.
