Laconia – Roland Xavier Beaudoin, 86, of 30 Cherry Street, died Saturday, August 16, 2014.
Roland was born in Trois Rivieres, Quebec, Canada on March 27, 1928, the son of the late Lionel and LucieAnna (Morin) Beaudoin. A lifelong resident of Laconia, Roland attended Ecole St. Joseph, graduated from Laconia High School in 1948 and attended Manchester Technical College. A United States Army veteran, Roland served in the Korean Conflict. Roland was the co-owner of Union Avenue Exxon in Laconia until his retirement, after which he worked part time for the Taylor Home and then the Laconia Clinic.
He was a dedicated and active parishioner of Sacred Heart Church. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Laconia Council #428. Roland will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother who cherished the time spent with family.
Family members include his wife of 53 years, Marlene (Fortin) Beaudoin of Laconia; their five children, Michelle Dean and her husband Timothy of Laconia, Denise Beaudoin-Kehl and her husband Dennis of Laconia, Rosanne Beaudoin and her husband Anthony Gamache of Candia, Marie Cohen and her husband John of Laconia and Mark Beaudoin and his wife Stacy of Meredith; his grandchildren, Olivia, Aidan and Victoria Dean, Rachel and Allison Gamache, and Eliza and Benoit Beaudoin; his brothers, Edgar Beaudoin and his wife Virginia of Laconia, and Paul Beaudoin and his wife Emiliette of Meredith; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Irene Bedard.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at St. André Bessette Parish, Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Avenue, Laconia. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
