Obituary

Francis "Frank" Collins, 66, of Derry, NH, died Thursday August 7, 2014 in Parkland Medical Center in Derry, NH. He was born in Somerville, MA on October 4, 1947, a son of the late William and Christina (Burke) Collins. Frank had been a resident of Derry for the past 22 years, formerly living in Somerville. Before his retirement, he was employed by Coca-Cola in Needham, MA for several years. Frank enjoyed time spent at Lake Winnipesaukee, and was known for having a wealth of knowledge, particularly historical information and trivial facts. His biggest enjoyment was spending time with his immediate and extended family, and his beloved pets.

He is survived by his wife Susan (Burns) Collins; two daughters and their husbands Kristen and Glen Hoffman of Windham, NH and Kerry and Jason D'Amato of Nashua, NH; brothers, William J. Collins of Myrtle Beach, SC and James F. Collins and his wife Carolyn of Windham, NH; mother-in-law, Shirley Burns; sister-in-law and her husband, Donna and Gerard Archiprete; sister-in-law Betsy Burns; four grandchildren, Megan D'Amato, Jack D'Amato, Nathan Hoffman, and Jake D'Amato; as well as several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by his sister and her husband, Norma and Robert Walsh, his brother-in-law, Kenneth Burns and nephews, Robert Walsh and Patrick Keefe.

Following cremation, a calling hour was held on Saturday, August 16th from 1 - 2pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A Celebration of Life followed at 2:00pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the MSPCA, 400 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844.
