Paul R. Chapdelaine, 76, of Londonderry, NH passed away surrounded by his loving family on Monday, August 11, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Nashua. He was born on March 27, 1938 in Goffstown, NH, a son of the late Rock and Alice (Benoit) Chapdelaine. He was a resident of Londonderry for 55 years, formerly living in Manchester. Mr. Chapdelaine proudly served his country in the US Air Force. He was a lineal descendant of the Abenaki Patsuiket Indians who once lived along the Merrimack River. Paul worked as a Master Automotive Technician for most of his life, starting his career with Genest Ford in Manchester. He worked for several companies including spending over 15 years with Sunoco and later worked for 23 years with his brother in law at Lab Motors in Marblehead, MA. He also dedicated his services to the Londonderry Police Department as a Special Services Officer as well as being a Sheriff’s Deputy with the Rockingham County Sheriff’s department in the Motorcycle Division.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Helen (Green) Chapdelaine, four children, Ronald and Cindy Chapdelaine, Kim Lesure, Kevin And Michelle Chapdelaine, and Keith and Ronda Chapdelaine, seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, two sisters, Rita and Herb Wood and Anne and Bob Soucy; four brothers, Richard Chapdelaine, Maurice Chapdelaine, Donald and Anita Chapdelaine, and Roland Chapdelaine, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by four of his siblings, Lucille Chapdelaine, Roger Chapdelaine, Claire Chapdelaine and Henri Chapdelaine.
There are no calling hours. Following cremation, graveside services were held on Friday, August 15, 2014 at 2:00pm in the NH State Veterans Cemetery, DW Highway, Boscawen. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross, 425 Reservoir Avenue, Manchester, NH, 03104
