Madeleine (Sloan) Soferr, 74 of Revere, formerly of Swampscott and Israel, died August 10th at the Whidden Memorial Hospital.
Born in Lynn, she was the loving daughter of the late George and Ruth (Slater) Sloan. Devoted mother of Elisabeth Soferr and Tamar Powell and her husband Mark. Madeleine was the dear sister of Elliott Sloan and his wife Marion, Samuel Sloan and his wife Marilyn and Edward Sloan and his fiancée Marilyn Friedman. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Madeleine was a loving devoted mother, sister and aunt who will be deeply missed. Mrs. Soferr had been employed as a Hebrew teacher. Madeleine had a love of theatre and baseball.
Her graveside service will be held at Anshe Sfard Cemetery 16 Buxton Road, Danvers, on Tuesday August 12th at 10 AM. Memorial observance at the home of Elliott and Marion Sloan in Marblehead following interment till 2PM. Wednesday from 2-4PM, 7-9PM and Thursday 2-4PM, 7-9PM.
