Obituary



Manchester– Normand L. Manseau, 61, died August 5, 2014 at the Catholic Medical Center following a sudden illness. He was born in Manchester on January 10, 1953 the son of Theresa E. (Girard) Manseau and the late Raymond M. Manseau, and had been a lifelong resident of this community.
He was a graduate of Keene State College in the class of 1975, after which he taught middle school Social Studies and English as well as plumbing vocational education in the Manchester public school system for over thirty years. He later received his Masters Degree in Teacher Leadership from UNH in 2011. He was a Master Plumber, and ran an independent plumbing business for the past thirty years. He was also currently teaching Driver’s Education.
He was a man of great faith, served as a Eucharistic Minister at the Parish of the Transfiguration, and held membership in the League of 1000 Men of Precious Blood Monastery. He also volunteered for all of his children's activities, including coaching West Little League, MRYHA youth hockey, and Junior Deb Softball, as well as serving as Cub Master for Cub Scouts.
He loved his home community and the people in it, and was well known for his kindness, friendliness, and selflessness. Most of all, his family was the love of his life.
Members of his family include his wife of Manchester; his wife of 36 years, Joline (Lavoie) Manseau of Manchester; one son, Dr. Marc W. Manseau and his husband, Brian Faas of New York, NY; two daughters, Christine M. Wysokowski and her husband, John of Westford, MA, and Nicole E. Manseau of Boston, MA; a granddaughter, Claire Wysokowski of Westford, MA; a brother, Ronald G. Manseau and his wife, Marcia of Bedford; a sister, Denise Rivard of Manchester; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He also loved his Samoyed dogs, Maya and Kara.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 4 to 7 PM at the J.N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 AM in Parish of the Transfiguration, Kelley St.
Committal prayers and encryptment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
