Obituary

Howard L. Moran, 87, a lifelong resident of Lawrence died on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at the Holy Family Hospital in Methuen surrounded by his loving and caring family.


He was born in Lawrence on May 25, 1927 to his parents John and Grace (Hall) Moran. Born and educated in Lawrence area schools. He served in the United States Navy during World War II having been disabled, obtaining the rank of Petty Officer Third Class. He worked as a Painter for the City of Lawrence for over 35 years until his retirement. He was also a long time parishioner of St. Mary’s Church in Lawrence. He was a life member Lawrence Ancient Order of Hibernians Division 8. also the Disabled American Veterans in Lawrence


He leaves his wife of 63 years Edna (Bernhard) Moran and two daughters: Kathleen Mannion of Lawrence, and Linda Moran of Lawrence. Two grand children Gary Mannion, Jr. and Faith Moran both of Lawrence, and his brother Joseph J. of Salem, NH, . As well as several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by Three children: Kenneth, Elaine and Michael Moran, one grand son Shawn Moran and brothers: John J; Frederick W; Francis M; and his sister Mrs. Thomas (Grace) Clark.


A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at 9:00AM at St. Mary of the Assumption Church In Lawrence. A burial will take place at a later date.
