Worcester - Gary E. Boss, 53, of Worcester died unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 29th in UMass Memorial Medical Center – Memorial campus after being stricken ill at his home.
Gary is survived by his wife of 19 years (including a 3 year courtship) Angela M. Manna-Boss; a daughter, Patricia of Worcester; his loving grandchildren Austin, Blake and Chase who referred to him as “Mica”, his mother, Eleanor (Beland) Boss of Shrewsbury, a sister, Elaine Stark and her husband Scott of Shrewsbury; a niece Bryanna, great nephew Colton, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Mr. Boss was born in Worcester, son of the late Edward Boss and is a graduate of Saint Peter Marian High School and also attended Quinsigamond Community College.
Gary had been working at IPG Photonics in Oxford for the past several years and previously worked for UPS. He truly loved his family and especially enjoyed caring for his grandsons. He also enjoyed sports, fishing and hunting. Gary’s passion was hockey and he loved the Boston Bruins. He also was a member of the Auburn Sportsman’s Club and the Teamsters.
Gary was a person that was constantly thinking of others throughout his life and he continued that generosity even after his death by giving the gift of life as an organ donor.
Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond Street Worcester is entrusted with the care of Mr. Boss. There are no calling hours and burial will be at the convenience of the family.
