Funeral services for Melvin Mashburn, 80, of Rebecca, Ga., will be held at 3:00 P.M., Sunday August 3, 2014 at the Amboy Baptist Church in Turner County, Ga. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Rebecca, Ga. Mr. Mashburn passed away Friday, August 1, 2014 at his residence.
The son of the late Charlie Thomas and Lydia Lucile Cornelius Mashburn, he was born in Rebecca, Ga. He was a farmer and served in the United States Army. Melvin was a member of the Amboy Baptist Church. Melvin was preceded in death by his son, Larry Mashburn.
Survivors include his wife, Annette Adams Mashburn of Rebecca, Ga., a daugther, Teresa (Keefe) M. Biggers of Fitzgerald, Ga., four grandchildren Lindsey (Brent) Hixon, Cuthbert, Ga., Keri Biggers, Lauren Mashburn, and Mitchell Mashburn all of Tifton, Ga., great grandchildren Walker Hixon and Hayes Hixon of Cuthbert, Ga., brothers Murray (Ovis) Mashburn of Ashburn, Ga. and Willis (Arlyn) Mashburn of Madisonville, KY.
The family will receive friends Sunday, August 3, 2014 from 1:30 until 2:30 P.M. at the Amboy Baptist Church.
