WORCESTER-Mildred A. “Millie” Rutkiewicz, 85, of 33 Westfield Street, died Saturday, November 20th in Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Her husband of 53 years Joseph J. Rutkiewicz died in 1993. She leaves 3 sons, Joseph and John Rutkiewicz both of Worcester and James Rutkiewicz of Worcester and Welles, ME, 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was born in Worcester the daughter of Edward and Agnes (Houlihan) Downes. Mrs. Rutkiewicz was a founding member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish and it’s Woman’s Guild both recently celebrating their 50th Anniversary. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved and enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and especially her 11 great-grandchildren; and will always be remembered for her kindness and wonderful laugh.
The funeral is Tuesday, November 23rd from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 5 Spaulding Street. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday, November 22nd from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home. Please omit flowers and make contributions to the Susan G.
