Cynthia "Cindy" Ferne (Heath) Snyder, 72, of Anderson died July 29, 2014 at Miller's Merry Manor in Chesterfield. Cynthia's long ordeal with Parkinson's Disease has ended.
She was born November 14, 1941 in Springfield, OH to Harry and Ferne (Holton) Heath who preceded her in death.
She was a graduate of Anderson University.
Cynthia was most proud of her service in the U.S. Air Force. She loved wearing the uniform and marching in formation. It was during service in the Air Force that she developed her high proficiency in typing for which she received special recognition.
Having later worked in positions at Anderson University's business office; Nicholson University Library and the School of Adult Learning before retiring in 2004, she was totally devoted to Anderson University.
In retirement, she enjoyed reading and participating in activities of the Piston Poppers Car Club.
Frequent trips to the Lake Michigan and Smokey Mountain areas are fondly remembered.
Survived by her husband, Richard Snyder; her children, Thomas “Tom” Taylor of Auburn, IN; Laura (Jeffrey) Clymer of Anderson; Charles "Tony" (Leslie) Taylor of Pendleton, IN ; James “Rick” (Amy) Taylor of Warsaw, IN; her grandchildren, Xanthe (Matt) Kopp; Alexa Clymer; Sloan Clymer; Ashley Taylor of Des Moines, Iowa; Tristen McGargee of Dallas, TX; her great grandchildren Olivia Kopp and Ivan Kopp all of Anderson; Harmony Taylor and Damien Taylor both of Des Moines, Iowa; her siblings, Sally Coomer of Versailles, OH; Angela (Al) Haltiner of Alpena, MI; Susan Roberts of Grand Rapids, MI; Tim (Martha) Heath of Nokomis, FL; Sara (Marc) Martinez of Tucson, AZ; her nieces and nephews, Chris Heath of Nokomis, FL; Alisha (Dan) Erdei of MI; Scott (Rachel) Haltiner of Claire, MI; Heidi Haltiner of Maui, HI; Megan Martinez; Callie Martinez; Lea Lind all of Tucson, AZ; Bill (Leslie) Coomer of Versailles, OH; Jon (Ami) Coomer of Greenville, OH; Carrie, Coomer of Springboro, OH.
A very special thanks is gratefully given to Cynthia's extended family at Miller's Merry Manor in Chesterfield, and most recently Heartland Hospice who saw to her care without whose help a five year journey would have been unendurable. They kept our sun shining.
Service will be 1:00 P.M. Tues. at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Chaplain Don Weston of Hospice and Cheryl Smiley officiating, burial will follow at East Maplewood Cemetery with military graveside honors.
Visitation will be on Monday, August 4, 2014 from 4 to 7 P.M. at the funeral home.
