COCHITUATE: Garth R. Creber, 73, died peacefully under the care and comfort of his family at their residence in Cochituate on Sunday, July 27, 2014 following a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in Ontario, Toronto, Canada on October 8, 1940 the son of the late LeRoy A. Creber and Dorothy (Durie) Creber Olive.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 42 years Cheryl A. (Tufts) Creber of Cochituate, formerly of Milford. Beloved father of Teresa M. Creber and Meradith L. Creber both of Cochituate. Brother of Clark D. Creber of Bedford, TX and the late Penny Price. Son-in-law of Helen M. Tufts and the late Herbert T Tufts of Cochituate; brother-in-law of Herbert J. Tufts and his wife Sandy of Berlin. Uncle of Debbie Mattison of Delray Beach, FL: Tammy K. Newman and her husband Phil of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; Matthew P. Tufts of Berlin and Timothy M. Tufts and his wife Ainsley of Arlington.
Garth came to the United States and became a citizen in his youth and resided in Darien, CT. He has been a resident of Cochituate for the past several years and resided in Milford for 38 years. He graduated from Darien, CT High School with the Class of 1959. He served his country proudly as a Communications Specialist with the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War and also served in Germany. He was associated with Deluxe Check Printers in Framingham and Norwalk, CT for over 20 years. He also served as a printer for over 8 years with the Dennison Company in Milford. He retired as a Technical Specialist after many years of service with Kopin Corp. in Taunton. Garth loved golfing, was an avid Boston sports fan and enjoyed 10 pin bowling.
The most important aspect of Garth’s life was the love and devotion he had to his “girls” who were the center of all that he did in life. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him over the years.
Visitations will be held on Friday, August 1, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00 on at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte 30), Cochituate.
Garth’s request and personal wishes are that private family services will be held at the Creber family lot in Lakeview Cemetery in Cochituate at the convenience of his family.
