GLOUCESTER – Hazel E. (Foster) Sinagra, 80, of Curtis Clark Park, died Monday morning, July 28, 2014, in the Kaplan Family Hospice House, Danvers following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Leonardo J. Sinagra, who died in July of 1988.
Born in Beverly on February 14, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Philip A. and Lillian J. (Chaurette) Foster.
She had been a resident of Gloucester since 1964. Along with her husband, she owned and operated Leo’s Pizza for thirty years, first located in Salem and then in Gloucester.
She had also been employed by North Atlantic Seafoods and was a member of the Seafood Retirees. She was a longtime communicant of the Our Lady of Good Voyage Church and member of the Mother of Grace Club.
Hazel enjoyed spending time with her family, trips to Foxwoods and shopping. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Peggy A. and George Elwell; three granddaughters, Annmarie, wife of Bert Kiff, Lisa, wife of Carl Melanson, and Jennifer Bigelow; eight grandchildren, Samantha and Christina Kiff, Cody, Caitlyn and Cailey Melanson, Taylor, Zachary and Karolyne Bigelow; and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service will be held on Thursday morning in the Pike-Grondin Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester at 10 a.m. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9 - 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Interment will be held in the Calvary Cemetery.
