Joseph A. Rose, 73 years of Lake Placid, Florida died October 27, 2004 at his home after a period of failing health. He was the husband of the late Helen M. (Ford) Rose. He had been a resident of Florida for the past five years previously living in Brockton for over 35 years. Born and educated in Cambridge, son of the late Joseph F. Rose and Mary E. (Smith) Balboni. For most of his career he was a car salesman in the Brockton area. During the Korean Conflict he served in the US Navy as a hospital corpsman aboard the USS Macon. He was an avid golfer and computer enthusiast and member of the VFW and the Brotherhood of the Moose in Lake Placid, Florida.
He is survived by a daughter Catherine M. Rose of Brockton, three sons, David J. of New Hampton, NH., Daniel A. of W. Bridgewater and Michael F. Rose of Whitman, four grandchildren and longtime family friend Elizabeth Rose of W. Bridgewater.
A Prayer Service will be held in the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home,138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Tuesday Nov. 23, 2004 at 10 am. Burial in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 11:30 am. Arrangements by J. Frank Conley Funeral Home,Brockton.
